DJ set video editing

Booth and room cameras cut to the recorded mix, as a full set upload, a highlight reel or a run of short clips.

What we edit

Full set uploads

The whole set as one video, cut between the booth, the decks and the room, with chapter times if you send a tracklist.

Highlight reels

A few minutes of the best moments for your profile, a booking pitch or a venue's page.

Drop clips

Short vertical clips of the lifts and drops, cut to 16 or 32 bars of the mix.

Use the mix, not the room

A phone in a club records bass rumble and crowd noise, and it often clips. Most mixers and controllers can record the master output, and that recording should be the sound of the video. We sync it to the cameras, and we can blend a little room sound back in at the drops so it still feels live. Start the recording before the first track and stop it after the last, so nothing is missing.

Camera positions that cut well

One camera behind or beside the DJ, looking over the decks toward the room, gives the classic booth shot. A second angle on the hands and mixer shows the mixing itself. A third from the floor catches the room and the lights. Even a phone on a small clamp at the edge of the booth adds a lot. Shutter settings that match the venue's lights help keep LED flicker down.

Other people's records

A DJ set is mostly other artists' music, and platforms treat that in different ways. Some sets get claimed, muted or blocked. We edit what you send and flag tracks that tend to cause trouble, but clearing them is between you, the platform and the rights holders.

For venues and promoters

A recap of a night helps sell the next one. We can cut a short piece mixing the booth, the room and the lights, with the next date on the end card. Ask your resident DJs to record their mixes, and the recaps will sound much better.

Questions

Can you add a tracklist to the video?

Yes. Send the tracklist with start times, or with the order and we'll find the times. It can go in as on-screen text or as chapter times in the description.

Can you edit a long set down to an hour?

Yes. We cut at transitions so the mix still flows. Tell us which parts must stay.

Got a show on a hard drive? Send the setlist, say what was filmed and what you want back, and we'll reply with a written quote.
